What Is Kinu?
A calm, private place to remember the little things about the people who matter, with gentle reminders when it's been a while.
You meant to text your sister back. You wanted to ask how the new job is going, or whether the move happened, or how her dad is doing. Then a week passed, and the moment slipped by.
Kinu is a private relationship companion. It's a calm, private place to remember the little things about the people who matter, with gentle reminders when it's been a while. No feeds. No followers. No likes. No streaks to keep alive. Just a quiet space that helps you stay close to the people you care about.
What Kinu is not
It's easy to assume Kinu is one more app demanding your attention. It isn't. Knowing what Kinu avoids tells you as much as knowing what it does.
- Not a social network. There are no feeds, no followers, no likes, and nothing to broadcast.
- Not a sales CRM. You're caring for people you love, not managing leads or working a pipeline.
- Not a calendar. Kinu holds the dates that matter and reminds you gently. It won't schedule your life.
- Not an AI companion. Kinu helps you show up for real people. It never tries to replace them.
There are no scores, no rankings, and no guilt. Take a break whenever you need one. Kinu will be here, calm and ready, when you come back.
Who Kinu is for
Kinu is for anyone who wants to be a little more intentional about their relationships. Maybe you care deeply but forget the small things. Maybe you want to stay close without living on social media. Maybe you simply prefer depth over constant contact.
You don't need to be bad at relationships to find Kinu useful. You just need to care enough to want a little help remembering.
What you can do with Kinu
Add your people
Keep a record for each person who matters, from family to close friends.
Capture moments
Jot down the small things they mention. You can record a voice note too.
Remember important dates
Birthdays, anniversaries, and any date you don't want to miss.
Keep private notes
A space that's for your eyes only, kept apart from everything else.
Organize with lenses
Group people into Family, Friends, Work, or any lens you like.
See who feels close
The Relational Compass is a calm visual map of your inner circle.
Keep a ritual
Set a gentle recurring intention, like a Sunday call, and Kinu reminds you when it is due.
Reminders fire at the single time of day you prefer, shifted out of your quiet hours, so a nudge never lands when you're asleep or at dinner. You set the pace, and you can give each person a mode of active, low energy, or paused to control how often Kinu reaches out about them.
Private by design
Your relationships are nobody's business but yours, and Kinu is built that way from the ground up.
- Local first. Everything you add is saved on your device first, so the app stays fast and works fully offline.
- Encrypted sync. With Kinu Plus, your data is encrypted on your device before it's uploaded, and it stays encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not access your relationship content as part of running Kinu. True zero-knowledge sync with keys only you hold is a future improvement we're working toward, so we don't claim it today.
- Photos and voice notes stay local. They live on your device and are never uploaded.
- Pseudonymous analytics. We only ever see a random support id. Never your name, your contacts, or anything you write. No cross-app tracking, no advertising identifiers.
- Private notes are sealed off. They are never processed, analyzed, surfaced in a reminder, or used by any feature. For your eyes only, by design.

Where to get Kinu
Kinu is a free download on iOS and Android, and the mobile app is your home base. With Kinu Plus you also get Kinu on the web at kinu.care, so you can check in on your people from your computer.
To keep your people safe across devices, Kinu asks you to sign in with Apple, Google, or an email and password. Your account powers backup and restore, encrypted sync, and restoring a purchase on a new device. Once you're signed in, the app still works fully offline.
Free and Plus
The free plan covers up to 10 people and keeps everything on your device. Every core feature is included: people, moments, voice notes, important dates, reminders, rituals, private notes, the Relational Compass, and lenses.
Kinu Plus adds unlimited people, encrypted sync across your devices, and desktop access at kinu.care. It's $6.99/month, $69.99/year, or $149.99 once for Lifetime. Your app store always shows the current price for your region.
Sync is a Plus feature and is opt-in. Nothing leaves your device until you turn it on.
