Contact Support

Reach a real person on the Kinu team. Email support@kinu.care, and learn what to include so we can help fast.

Stuck on something, or just have a question? You're in the right place. Kinu is built by a small team, and a real person reads every message. Most questions have a quick answer below, so it's worth a glance before you write in. If you don't see it here, we're one email away.

Try these first

Many issues have a fast fix already written up. These are the topics people ask about most.

How to reach us

Email us at support@kinu.care. That's the fastest way to reach a person, and it's the only support channel we run, so you're always talking to the team that builds Kinu.

What to include

You don't need to write a perfect report. A few details just help us get to an answer on the first reply instead of the second. When you can, include:

  • Your device and platform. iPhone, Android, or the web app at kinu.care. For web, the browser you're using helps too.
  • Your app version and build. The most reliable place to find it is your phone's app store listing for Kinu, on the app's detail page. If you can't find it, no problem, just tell us roughly when you last updated.
  • What's happening. A sentence or two about the issue, plus any exact wording from an error message.
  • What you've already tried. So we can skip past it and dig into the real cause.

Please don't send passwords, and there's no need to share the actual notes or names you keep in Kinu. We can almost always help without seeing your relationship content, and we don't access it as part of running Kinu.

A few things to know before you write

Some of the most common questions have a clear answer, and knowing it up front can save you a round trip.

  • Free plan limits. The free plan supports up to 10 people, on one device, with data kept locally. Unlimited people, encrypted sync, and desktop and web access come with Kinu Plus.
  • An account is required. You sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. Your account is what powers backup and restore, encrypted sync across devices, and restoring a past purchase. Once you're signed in, Kinu works fully offline.
  • Sync is a Plus feature, and it's opt-in. If something looks out of date on a second device, see Sync isn't working first.
  • Billing and refunds. Subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play, so refunds and cancellations go through them. Our refund policy and what happens when I cancel walk through the details.
  • Deleting your account. You can delete your account anytime in Settings > Account > Delete Account, or from our account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and permanent, so read deleting your account before you do it.

When you'll hear back

We usually reply within 24 hours, and often sooner. If your message is about possible data loss, put that in the subject line and we'll move it to the front of the queue.

A note on privacy

When you contact us, we only see what you choose to share in your message. We don't have access to your moments, your private notes, or the names of the people you keep in Kinu. Private notes in particular are kept isolated, and are never processed, analyzed, or used by any feature. If you'd like the full picture, read what we can and can't see.

We're a small team, and we care about getting this right. Whatever you're running into, write to us at support@kinu.care and we'll do our best to sort it out with you.
