Restore Purchases

Reinstalled Kinu or switched phones? Get Kinu Plus back in a few taps, no second payment.

You set up a new phone, or you deleted and reinstalled Kinu, and now it looks like a free account again. Kinu Plus has not disappeared. Your purchase is held by Apple or Google, tied to the store account you bought it with. A quick restore links it back to Kinu. You will not pay twice.

Restore is the fix anytime your Plus is not showing up where you expect it: after a reinstall, on a new device, or when the web does not yet recognize your subscription.

Restore Plus in the app

The same steps work on iPhone, iPad, and Android. Make sure you are signed in to Kinu with the account you use for everything else first, so the restored access lands on the right account.

Open your plan

Open Kinu, go to Settings, then tap Billing.

Tap Restore purchases

Tap Restore purchases. Kinu checks with Apple or Google to confirm what you own.

You are set

This usually takes a moment. Once it is confirmed, Plus comes back right away. Sync resumes, web and desktop access unlock, and the people limit is lifted.

One purchase, every device. Plus follows your account, not a single phone. After a restore on one device, your other signed-in devices pick it up too once they sync.

If restore does not bring Plus back

Most of the time restore just works. When it doesn't, it is almost always one of these. Work down the list in order.

Use the same store account you bought it with

Your purchase lives with the Apple ID or Google account you used at checkout, not with your Kinu sign-in. If your phone is now signed in to a different store account, the restore will not find it.

  • On iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, and confirm it is the same Apple ID you subscribed with.
  • On Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, and confirm you are on the right Google account.

Check that your subscription is still active

Monthly and Annual renew on their own, so a plan can lapse if a renewal was cancelled or a payment did not go through. Lifetime never expires, so you can skip this step if that is what you bought.

  • On iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, and look for Kinu.
  • On Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and look for Kinu.

If Kinu is listed and active but Plus still is not showing in the app, fully close Kinu and reopen it, then try the restore again.

Give it a minute

On a fresh install the store sometimes takes a little longer to confirm. Wait a minute or two, make sure you have a connection, and tap Restore purchases once more.

Seeing "This purchase belongs to a different account"? Your Plus is safe, it is just attached to a different Kinu account than the one you are signed in to now. Sign in to Kinu with the account that bought Plus, then restore again. If you are not sure which account that is, email us and we will help you find it.

Plus is bought in the app, not on the web

You buy and manage Kinu Plus inside the app through Apple or Google. There is no web checkout and no card on file with Kinu, so there is nothing to restore on the web. The web is where you use Kinu once you have Plus, not where you pay for it.

If you have Plus but kinu.care still shows a free account, you do not need to restore there. Just confirm you are signed in with the same account you used to subscribe, and your status will catch up. For more on web and desktop access, see Manage Your Subscription on Web.

Nothing to restore yet?

If the restore reports that there are no purchases to bring back, it means this store account has not bought Kinu Plus. You can compare what is included on each tier in Plans and Pricing, then upgrade right from Settings > Billing whenever you are ready.

Still not working?

If you have worked through the steps above and Plus still is not appearing, email us at support@kinu.care. Include the email address on your Kinu account and let us know whether you bought through the App Store or Google Play. We will track down your purchase and get it back for you.
