Can't Add More People

You've reached the free plan limit of 10 people. Here's how to make room or move to unlimited.

The Free plan holds up to 10 people. When you try to add an eleventh, Kinu lets you know you've reached the limit. This is the only thing the limit does. It never touches the people you've already added.

You have two calm ways forward: make room on the Free plan, or move to unlimited with Kinu Plus. Neither one is urgent, and either one keeps everything you've captured exactly where it is.

Your existing people are safe

Before anything else, the important part: the 10-person limit only stops you from adding someone new. It never removes, hides, or restricts the people, moments, voice notes, important dates, or private notes you already have. Everything you've captured stays exactly where it is, on your device, untouched.

Make room on the Free plan

If you'd rather stay on Free, you can remove someone you no longer keep in Kinu, which frees up a slot for the new person.

Open the person's profile

Tap the person you want to remove from your people list.

Go to the About tab

Their profile opens on the About tab. Scroll to the bottom.

Choose "Remove from your list"

Tap Remove from your list, then confirm. The slot opens up right away, and you can add someone new.

Removing a person deletes their record and everything in it from your device. If you might want them back later, this is permanent on the Free plan. On Kinu Plus, the simpler path is usually to move to unlimited instead of removing anyone.

Move to unlimited with Kinu Plus

When your circle has grown past 10, Kinu Plus lifts the cap entirely. You keep everyone you have, add as many people as you like, and unlock two more things along the way:

  • Unlimited people: no cap on how many people you keep in your Kinu
  • Encrypted sync: your Kinu follows you across your devices, encrypted on your device before it is uploaded
  • Web and desktop access: open your Kinu from any browser at kinu.care

Kinu Plus is $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year. There's also Lifetime, a one-time purchase of $149.99 with no recurring charges. Your App Store or Google Play account always shows the live price in your local currency before you confirm anything.

Common questions

Does upgrading move my data anywhere? No. Your people stay on your device, and they stay yours. Kinu Plus simply removes the limit and, if you turn on sync, lets your Kinu follow you across the devices you choose. Sync is opt-in and runs quietly in the background. Photos and voice notes always stay on your device and are never uploaded.

What if I subscribe, then cancel later? Nothing is lost and nothing is held hostage. You keep everyone you've added. You return to the Free experience, sync pauses, and web access pauses until you resubscribe. For the full picture, see What happens when I cancel.

I already paid. Why am I still seeing the limit? If you upgraded on another device or reinstalled the app, you may need to restore your purchase. See Restore purchases.
