Refund Policy

How to request a refund for Kinu Plus or Lifetime, and what to expect.

We want Kinu to feel right for you. If it is not the fit you hoped for, we will work with you to make it fair.

Where your refund request goes depends on where you bought Kinu Plus or Lifetime. Because purchases happen inside the app, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment, so refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google. If you bought through the web in the past, we handle it directly.

Not sure which store you used? If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, it is Apple. If you subscribed on an Android phone or tablet, it is Google Play. If you paid through the web before in-app purchase was the only option, contact us and we will sort it out.

iOS purchases (Apple)

If you subscribed or bought Lifetime through the App Store, refunds are handled by Apple, not by Kinu. Apple runs its own refund review.

To request a refund from Apple:

Use the Apple ID you used to buy Kinu Plus or Lifetime.

Find the Kinu charge

Locate the Kinu purchase in your history.

Submit your request

Choose the reason that fits and send it to Apple.

Apple usually reviews refund requests within 48 hours and emails you the result.

Kinu cannot process refunds for App Store purchases. Apple manages all billing for iOS, including refunds, so every iOS refund has to go through Apple's system. We wish we could press the button for you, but this part is in Apple's hands.

Android purchases (Google Play)

If you subscribed or bought Lifetime through Google Play, refunds are handled by Google, not by Kinu.

For a recent purchase, you can often request a refund yourself from the Google Play Store:

Open Google Play

On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and tap your profile icon.

Go to your payments

Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & history.

Find the Kinu purchase

Tap the Kinu order, then choose the option to request a refund and follow the prompts.

If too much time has passed for the self-service option, you can still ask Google directly at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, or contact Google Play support.

Kinu cannot process refunds for Google Play purchases. Google manages billing and refunds for Android, so Play purchases are refunded through Google.

Web purchases

Kinu Plus and Lifetime are bought inside the app on iOS or Android today, so most people will use Apple or Google above.

If you subscribed through the web back when that was an option, contact us directly and we will handle it:

Include the email address on your Kinu account and a short note about why you would like a refund. We aim to reply within one business day.

We review web refund requests case by case and try to be fair and reasonable. If Kinu is not working for you, we would rather give your money back than have you feel stuck.

Lifetime purchases

Lifetime is eligible for a refund request too, and the path is the same as above. Request it through Apple if you bought it in the App Store, through Google if you bought it on Google Play, or by emailing us for an older web purchase.

Keep in mind that Apple and Google apply their own refund windows and policies to one-time purchases, just as they do for subscriptions.

Cancel instead of refund

If you simply want to stop future charges and do not need money back for the current period, cancelling is the simplest path. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.

Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel. If you have a Lifetime purchase and a subscription running at the same time, you can safely cancel the subscription and keep your Lifetime access.

Good to know

  • Your data is safe either way. A refund or cancellation never deletes your people or moments. Everything stays on your device. See what happens when you cancel.
  • Refunds are decided by the store. For App Store and Google Play purchases, the final decision and timing rest with Apple or Google. We can point you to the right place, but we cannot approve those refunds ourselves.
  • Want to remove everything? Deleting your account is a separate, permanent action. See Deleting Your Account.
